Star Traffic reported an accident along the Subang airport road at 4.13pm that is causing delays from Citta Mall.

In Kuala Lumpur, traffic is reported to be slow along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim from Semantan towards the Duta tunnel. Traffic is also slow on Jalan Tun Razak from Ampang Park towards the RHB building.

Congestion along the Federal Highway has also been reported from the Jalan Templer intersection to the LDP interchange, while the Kesas Highway is backed up from Seafield to Hicom.

Klang fire not caused by car bomb, state rep says after ‘mischievous’ online rumours

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 — Pictures circulating on social media of a huge cloud of smoke at a shoplot area in Andalas, Klang was the result of a fire and not a car bomb as claimed by some people online.

Seri Andalas assemblyman Dr Xavier Jeyakumar, who visited the scene of the incident, said that the rumours were works of “mischievous parties.”

“I was in the area and I spoke to the Fire and Rescue officials and also the forensic team there. What happened was there was a fire in a shoplot there,” he told Malay Mail Online.

“Because the shop has plastics and styrofoam, the fire became really bad and raged outside, affecting five cars which were totally burnt,” he added.

No casualties were reported from the incident.

The rumours began spreading just as Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that last week’s grenade attacks at a nightclub in Puchong that injured eight people is linked Islamic State (IS) terror group.

Pray For Madinah

RIYADH: A suicide bomber who blew himself up near the United States consulate in Jeddah early Monday has been identified as a Pakistani citizen, the Saudi interior ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry identified the man as 35-year-old Abdullah Gulzar Khan, who worked as a driver in the kingdom.

Khan had been living with his wife and her parents in Jeddah for 12 years, the interior ministry said in a tweet

Early on Monday, security officers became suspicious of a man near the parking lot of Dr Suleiman Faqeeh Hospital in Jeddah, which is directly across from the US diplomatic mission.

When they moved in to investigate “he blew himself up with a suicide belt inside the hospital parking”. Two security officers were lightly injured in the incident.

Interior ministry spokesman General Mansour al-Turki had told state Al-Ekhbaria news channel that the bomber was closer to a mosque in the area than to the consulate.

The ministry said in the statement published on the official SPA news agency that the bomber's explosive belt had “partially” exploded.

The US embassy in Riyadh reported no injuries among the consulate staff.

A picture carried by the Sabq online newspaper, which is close to authorities, showed a large body part lying on the ground between a taxi and the open door of another car that was peppered with holes. The attack coincided with the US July 4 Independence Day holiday.

Gen Raheel condemns Saudi attacks

Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Tuesday called Saudi Defence Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman over phone and condemned terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia.

An Inter-Services Public Relations communique said the army cheif sympathised with the families of attack victims, adding, "We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Saudi brothers in fighting the menace of terrorism."

Multiple attacks

The bombing in Jeddah was the first of three attacks to have hit the kingdom on the same day.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the bombings one of which, at the Masjid-i-Nabawi (PBUH) in Madina, left four members of the security forces dead and others wounded.

Since late 2014 Saudi Arabia has been hit by bombings and shootings claimed by the militant Islamic State (IS) group but multiple attacks on the same day are unusual.

The Prophet's Mosque, in the west of the kingdom, is one of Islam's holiest sites — where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is buried and which attracts millions of visitors each year.

The Prophet's Mosque is particularly crowded during Ramazan, which is supposed to be a time of charity but has seen spectacular attacks around the region.

Undeterred by the blast at the sprawling Madina mosque complex, thousands of worshippers performed prayers on Monday night, live Saudi television showed.

Extremists from IS claimed, or were blamed for, a suicide bombing in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday that killed more than 200 people as well as attacks in Bangladesh Friday night and at Istanbul's Ataturk airport last week.

Monday's bombings in Madina and at near a Shia mosque in Qatif took place simultaneously.

Suicide Bombing In Arab Saudi

JEDDAH: Suicide bombers blew themselves up in Qatif and Madinah after sundown on Monday, several hours after Saudi security officers foiled an attack near the US Consulate in Jeddah.

In Madinah, a bomb exploded in the vicinity of a police post outside the Prophet’s Mosque, killing four policemen and two civilians, reports said.

A police source told Arab News that the officers manning the post were having their iftar meal when the suicide bomber struck.

                                             

The bomber reportedly asked to join the policemen in having iftar and he was welcomed. As soon as he got near, he exploded his suicide vest.

A video circulated on social media showed a car burning and at least two security officers were seen lying on the open ground and two others lay crumpled near a burning car.

Security forces have cordoned off the Prophet's Mosque and worshippers were not allowed to get in or out.

Madinah Governor Prince Faisal bin Salman arrived at the blast location and visited Al Ansar Hospital where the victims of the blast are being treated.

In Qatif, a governorate in the Eastern Province, two suicide bombers blew themselves up one after the other outside the Faraj Al-Omran Mosque. No casualties were reported.

The number of fatalities reported does not include the three suicide bombers.

                                         

Earlier Monday at 2:15 a.m., a suicide bomber blew himself up near the US Consulate when security officers confronted him as he moved suspiciously at a parking lot of the Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital.
Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, said the bomber, in his 30s, was identified as an expatriate from the United Kingdom.
Photos taken from the scene showed the bomber’s body partially dismembered by the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far. Previous mosque attacks in the past months in the kingdom have been claimed by Daesh militants.

                                             

ISIS DECLARE WAR WITH MALAYSIA

PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A gun-toting adult is surrounded by children, and a teen standing away from the group is seen cradling an AK-47 assault rifle.

The man is wagging his right index finger back and forth, and talks in a mix of Bahasa Malaysia and what sounded like Arabic.

He expresses gratitude to Allah for "easing our journey and jihad" and for appointing them as "soldiers of Tawhid (The Oneness of God)".

He called out to the authorities of the nusantara (archipelago) - especially in Malaysia and Indonesia.

"Know this ... we are no longer your citizens, and have liberated ourselves from you," he said as the camera panned to show a goateed man nearby holding another Malaysian passport.

"With His permission and His assistance, we will come to you with a military force that you cannot overcome.

"This is Allah's promise to us," he said.

This footage is seen in one of the video clips released by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The man also referred to the toppling of governments and leaders who did not follow Islamic principles to make way for the supremacy of Islam.

Shortly later, he threw his passport into the middle of the circle, and the children followed suit.

A young boy stepped forward with a silver lighter and uttered Bismillah before lighting up a folded piece of white paper.

He then placed it among the pile of documents to set the heap ablaze, a sight which is greeted by raucous cheers and singing from the other children as their fists punched the air.

The scene then moves to a classroom setting, depicting children wearing songkok chanting during religious lessons supervised by an adult, and undergoing combat training under the watchful eyes of another.

They also go through outdoor learning sessions, where a man in a red headwrap conducted quizzes for his young charges.

In another clip of a sandy clearing surrounded by coniferous trees, children stood in line as they fired rounds from semi-automatic pistols.

In a testament to their tender years, their small bodies jerked back from the recoil, with the hems of their oversized camouflage fatigues falling past their knees.

An adult nearby, clad in camel khakis, long-sleeved shirt and a vest, raised his right fist, shouting takbir as the children followed suit with a chorus of Allahu Akbar (God is Great).

Terrorism rears ugly head in Malaysia

PETALING JAYA —  In a swift counter-strike, police arrested 15 suspected Islamic State (IS) militants, including two cops, in connection with the recent grenade attack at the Movida Kitchen Bar and Club Lounge in Puchong Jaya last Tuesday.

They also seized an assortment of weapons, IS-related literature and other paraphernalia.

Counter-terrorism specialists, who have now widened their net to bring in more suspects, also disclosed that a Malaysian masterminded the June 28 attack which left eight people injured and several others traumatised.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar identified the mastermind to be 26-year-old Muhammad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi, who remains at large in Syria, and is reportedly linked to the beheading of a foreigner, purportedly a spy, there.

Khalid’s disclosure yesterday affirms Malay Mail report following the blast attack at the lounge which highlighted the IS link.

The police crackdown, which took place in the Klang Valley and northern states, began days after the incident and continued until last weekend. All those detained were between 19 and 52 years old.

Last Friday, two factory workers were detained in Port Klang after investigations revealed they were individuals who hurled the hand grenade at the lounge.

“The two had received instructions from Muhamad,” Khalid told a press conference at Bukit Aman yesterday.

Police are now looking for Md Saifuddin Muji, 28, and Jasanizam Rosni, 33, both believed to be senior IS members here.

Khalid urged the public to come forward should they have any information on the terror group and also on the whereabouts of the wanted duo.

Police warned that more attacks had been planned, and assured police were on heightened alert.

“These militants were directed by Muhamad to attack our prime minister, high-ranking police officials and other entertainment outlets.”

On the involvement of the cops with the terror outfit, Khalid said the two were attached with the Kedah police contingent.

“One was to protect a senior IS member from being arrested, while another was to raise funds for IS terror activities by committing robberies in the city.”

Investigations also revealed the hand grenade used in the attack was one similar to that used for military training and believed to have been smuggled from a neighbouring country.

On June 29, Malay Mail front-paged that police were probing terrorism links for the attack after a man, pledging allegiance to IS, claimed responsibility.

The said individual in the Facebook post said the attack was in retaliation to social activities held during Ramadan, and was believed to have been uploaded by Muhamad using Abu Hamzah Al- Fateh as his Facebook identity.

Khalid reiterated his previous proposal to the government to place all entertainment outlets in one area for security reasons.

“Clubs and pubs are everywhere. It is hard for us to keep an eye on each one of them. If they were gathered in one area, it would be easier for us to carry out our duties and prevent such incidents.”
