According to the Malay Mail Online, Chung was one of four family members killed at a chicken processing factory in Batu Maung, a small town in Penang.
It has been reported that Chung’s mother, stepfather and infant son were also killed.The person responsible for the shootings is believed to be Chung's 32-year-old brother.
“A CCTV recording showed the suspect rummaging through things in the factory premises before he got into an argument with his stepfather,” Malay Mail reported senior policeman Razaruddin as saying.
“We believe when he shot the three victims, the two-year-old heard the commotion and came down the stairs where he too was shot,” he said.
The 2013 Sultan Gold Vase and the 2015 Selangor Gold Cup were among Chung's major winners in a career spent predominantly in Malaysia.
